[ARCHIVED] City Continues to Work Through Historical Storm

After receiving approximately a foot of snow with many snow drifts accumulating several feet high, City personnel continue to work to clear the snow off of heavily trafficked streets. Due to the variations in snow drift accumulations the City does not have an estimated timeframe or schedule. While all City streets are important, City personnel is focusing on the more heavily trafficked streets. Upon the clearing of these streets City personnel will proceed to begin clearing residential streets.
Also, the City has been informed by Republic Services that they will be unable to collect garbage until the road conditions improve later this week. Upon the mobilization of Republic Services they will work until they are caught up.
In addition the Levelland Landfill and Levelland Transfer Station and Recycling Center are closed until further notice. All other City offices are open.
Thank you for your understanding as the City continues to respond and work though a historical snow storm.
